Nas metamorfoses da loucura viramos gárgulas, corujas, dragões; a rotação nos funde ao espaço, e nos iguala todos.
Chegamos ao caroço da imagem onde ela não é mais que seu futuro – o estado de síntese da imagem ideal (a que temos de nós mesmos), um ponto mínimo onde o mais fundamental é reduzido à sua potência. Em perversão ou tristeza, a força atômica da dor emerge.
A série, iniciada em 2008, foi exposta na minha primeira individual, em Nova York, outubro do mesmo ano. Em 2011, ganhou um edital do ProAC, e teve sua primeira exibição no Brasil no MuBE.
rehearsal to madness
On the metamorphoses of madness we turn into gargoyles, owls, dragons; the rotation merges subject and space and makes us all equal.
We get to the core of the image: where it is not more than a promise, a seed - the state of synthesis of the ideal image (the one we have of ourselves), the point where the most fundamental is reduced to its potency, and, in sadness or perversion, the atomic force of pain arises.
The series, started in 2008, was exhibited in NYC in my first solo show. In 2011 the series was awardes ProAc (a public grant) and was ehxibited for the first time in Brazil at the Brazilian Museum of Sculpture ( MuBE - São Paulo).
